ABSTRACT
The main cause of pyogenic liver abscess is crytogenic in most cases, followed by the infection of biliary tract and the spread of septic emboli from diverticulitis or appendicitis. But the occurrence of the disease as a procedure-related complication is rare, especially after endoscopic cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). We experienced a case with liver abscess caused by straight-type endoscopic retrograde nasobiliary drainage (ENBD) tube migration after removal of common bile duct muddy stones. The patient was treated with antibiotics without abscess drainage after change of ENBD tube with pigtail type.
