| ABSTRACT |
|
Initial intensive management of acute pancreatitis is important in reducing the mortality and complications associated with this condition. Nevertheless, the current domestic standard guidelines do not include protocols for the initial management of acute pancreatitis. We used the guidelines currently enacted in Europe, America, and Japan to prepare guidelines for initial management of acute pancreatitis. We recommend an initial treatment that consists of conservative management including fasting and fluid therapy, hyperalimentation, the use of prophylactic antibiotics, and inhibition of pancreatic enzymes including protease inhibitors. |
