1. General Information
All submitted papers, including those invited by the Editor, are subject to a thorough peer review process. A manuscript is initially reviewed for its adherence to the journal's format and its alignment with the journal's aims and scope. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned to the author without undergoing a full peer review.
2. Plagiarism Screening
Before peer review, all submitted manuscripts are checked using Similarity Check powered by iThenticate, a plagiarism-screening tool, to ensure the originality of the content. For more details, visit iThenticate.
3. Type of Peer Review
The Korean Journal of Pancreas and Biliary Tract employs a single-blind peer review process, where the reviewers remain anonymous to the authors. Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two reviewers with relevant expertise, chosen by the editorial board.
4. Statistical Review
If the data within the manuscript require in-depth statistical analysis, professional statistical editing will be conducted by a statistician to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the statistical methods used.
5. Manuscript Revisions
The editorial board reserves the right to revise and edit the style and structure of submitted manuscripts to ensure they comply with the journal's guidelines and enhance clarity. Authors will be informed if such revisions are necessary.
6. Notification of Decision
Once the peer review process is complete, the decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection is promptly communicated to the corresponding author. Accepted manuscripts that meet the journal's publication policies and stylistic standards will be scheduled for publication. Rejected manuscripts will not be reconsidered for publication.
7. Final Decision
The decision to publish a manuscript is made solely by the editorial board, which considers both the peer reviewers' comments and the overall quality of the manuscript. The average time from submission to decision is 4 to 8 weeks.
8. Editorial Responsibility
The editorial board is ultimately responsible for deciding whether a manuscript will be accepted or rejected for publication.
